Black wood 2B graphite pencils are standard writing and drawing pencils with black-painted barrels and 2B lead. The 2B grade is softer than HB and produces darker lines with less pressure. The black wood barrel gives the pencil a professional look. M...

A pencil is wood, graphite, and a thin layer of paint. It sharpens, it writes, it erases. The graphite pencil factory turns those three materials into a product that sells by the billion. The core is mixed and fired. The wood is cut, grooved, and glu...

The HB pencil is the default. It sits in the exam hall, the office drawer, the school bag. The "HB" marks the middle of the graphite hardness scale, hard enough to hold a point, soft enough to leave a dark line without pressing. Millions are made eve...

A colored pencil usually has a wax or oil core. A charcoal colored pencil is different. The core is softer, denser, and lays down a thicker layer of color with less pressure. It behaves like a pastel but holds a point like a pencil. Color charcoal ro...

A colored pencil set usually comes in bright barrels, every color visible from the outside. Black wood hexagon color pencils go the other way. The barrels are black. The color is inside. The hex shape keeps them from rolling off the drawing table. Th...

A round pencil rolls. It drops off the drafting table and lands tip-down. The graphite inside shatters. A Hexagonal Art Sketching Pencils stays where the artist puts it. Six flat sides give the fingers a grip and stop the roll, even on a tilted drawi...

A standard HB pencil writes. A 2B pencil draws, shades, and fills. The lead is softer. The mark is darker. More graphite ends up on the paper with every stroke. Students use 2B pencils for exam answer sheets because the scanner reads the dark mark re...

A round pencil rolls off the drafting table and lands tip-down. The graphite inside shatters. A hexagonal pencil stays put. Six flat sides give fingers grip and stop the roll, even on a tilted drawing board. Basswood is the wood that makes this shape...

A standard HB writes. A 2B draws, shades, and fills. The lead is softer, the mark is darker, and more graphite ends up on the paper with every stroke. A black wood 2B graphite pencil wraps that dark core in a barrel that is black through the wood its...

A pencil is a sandwich. Two slats of wood with grooves cut into them, a stick of graphite glued in the middle, the whole thing shaped into a hexagon or a circle. The wood does half the work. It has to be soft enough to sharpen without shattering the ...

A pencil is mostly wood. The graphite core gets the attention, but the cedar or poplar around it does the work. It sharpens clean. It holds the lead straight. It survives the sharpener, the pencil case, and the drop off the desk. A soft poplar pencil...
